The Foil Design and Fairing Consulting group is the only place where you are guaranteed to talk to a person with relevant technical degrees. They will also be conversant in English and Sailor. Foil design is a highly technical area. It requires both a significant understanding of the problems and a better understanding of the solutions. Much of what this group may do requires specialized software and a degrees in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering just to understand it. They are completely familiar with the NACA and modified sections, but they may recommend that a non-standard section of recent development be applied. This is completely application dependent. Only recently has this capability become possible with portable computer power.
This group can survey the existing foiIs and then report with clear recommendations and possible gains to be made. You may request that final design recommendations be provided as either full-scale paper or rigid templates to facilitate final fairing.
